Be a Leader and a Voice for Change
The YMCA has a vision of youth and adults working together as catalysts for positive community change, and each person contributing equally in listening, learning and growing. When teens and adults work together, everyone benefits: it can broaden experience, wisdom, energy and enthusiasm for both young people and adults.
Being a Youth Advisory Member, you can provide a voice for youth in our community. Working side-by-side with Y staff and adult volunteer leadership, you can make meaningful changes at the Y in areas of programs and services that meet the expectations of youth interests of today, desired experiences and ideas for improvement. From this information-sharing process, youth and adults can better communicate and collaborate to intentionally and thoughtfully build partnerships and create volunteer opportunities that make a difference in your own neighborhood.
