TEEN SPORTS

GIRLS ORGANIZED VOLLEYBALL

(Grades 7th -12th)

Organized Girls Volleyball Games hosted for 5 weeks, twice a week.  Session will begin January 2010.  Have fun and play with other girls from different teams. More details coming soon!

JUNIOR WEIGHT TRAINING

This training program is designed to expose members age 12-14 years to the benefits of utilizing the Nautilis and Cardio equipment for their overall health and wellness.  Upon completion of this training, students can utilize the Junior Weight Training hour on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00-5:00pm without a parent or guardian.

NAUTILUS & STRENGTH TRAINING

If you are 15 years or older, you may utilize the Nautilus and Cardio equipment at any time, once an orientation has been completed. You will have access to over 18 pieces of 2ST Nautilus machinces for a full body workout, as well as, a wide variety of cardio machines.  Please make arrangements for an orientation with a Fitness Center Staff Member.

BOXING

The YMCA in conjunction with Boxing, Inc. have a boxing program available for both men and women, ages 8 and up. This program is taught and supervised by Licensed and Certified US Olympic Coaches. The program is Licensed by USA Boxing for recreational and competitive boxing.

Cost: Participants are required to purchase insurance to participate, which is available through USA Boxing for $35 per year. All travel expenses for those who choose to participate in competitions are paid for by Boxing, Inc.

Practices: Mon/Tues/Thurs 6:00 - 8:00 pm

 

MARTIAL ARTS

TaeKwonDo, a form of martial arts and selfdefense is also recognized as an Olympic sport. The teaching method offered is “TaeKwonDo Chung Do Kwan,” one of the oldest and most recognized throughout the world.

Students are able to train and be promoted, receiving authentic certification of all ranges through Black Belt.

• Minimum of 6 partcipants to run class
