Parent Nurturing Program

The Parent Nurturing Program is a 15 week program designed to help families with children between the ages of 4-12 years of age, including adoptive or extended families, alleviate crises that might lead to abuse and or neglect of children, and children being taken out of their homes. The program is hosted weekly for 2.5 hours in the evening, with separate and joint activities for parents and children.

Families will learn about behavior management, self-esteem, child development and empathy. Parents will learn appropriate behavior management techniques, how to praise positive behaviors and utilize choices/consequences for unacceptable behaviors. These same principles are taught to the children through games, art, discussion and role playing.
