Come and join us for our annual volleyball social night to meet the other players and have some fun!  We will have games going at different skill levels, along with refreshments for your enjoyment.

Fees:  $100 - 4 person team (Women's Power & Coed Power) $75 - New 3 person team (any combination of male and female)

RACQUETBALL LEAGUES

Racquetball leagues are a great way to improve your game or just to learn the game. YMCA racquetball leagues run continuously throughout the year and are open to members and non-members. Each league runs for 9 weeks and is limited to 6 players (minimum of 4 players in each league to run). Stop by the YMCA for a registration form or call for more information.

3-ON-3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

A 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament will be held outdoors at the Abbot Sports Complex in collaboration with the Grand Forks Fastbreak Club.  If interested, please contact Bob McWilliams at bmcwilliams@gfymca.org for more information.

YMCA OUTLANDERS CLUB

Outlander. . . One, who leaves the comfort of safe and familiar places, ventures out and experiences what's new and challenging.  The Outlander's meet once a month for a new adventure.  All are welcome to join in on the fun.  The Outlander's Club is a great opportunity to meet new people, expand your knowledge and experience exciting new ventures. FIT FOR LIFE

Increase your muscle strength, mobility and range of motion to enhance your daily living skills - all in a fun, upbeat environment!  Move your body to the music with basic movements like marching, arm movements, strength & muscle toning exercises and flexibility stretches.  The use of chairs is optional for assistance in seated or standing positions.  This class is appropriate for anyone who is sedentary, unfamiliar with exercise, in a post-rehabilitation situation, or has other limited mobility issues.

YMCA SERVICE CLUB
The YMCA Service Club is for men and women who are interested in helping others and supporting your YMCA. The Grand Forks YMCA’s Service Club raises money to support youth programs through special events. Meetings are held monthly. Both service and social events are planned throughout the year. NOON BALL: BASKETBALL/VOLLEYBALL
The Gym is open for noon pickup basketball games M-F (Big Gym) from Noon-2:00 pm and volleyball T&Th (Mini Gym) from Noon-1:30 pm. Noon Ball is for YMCA members only.
LITTLE BROTHER/LITTLE SISTER PROGRAM
There is a child who needs you! We need your help as a volunteer in the Little Brother/Little Sister Program. The program matches adult volunteers with children 4-17 years of age, who are in need of additional support, friendship, and
individual attention. If you know that you have two hours a week to give to a young child, contact the YMCA for more information.
SCUBA

Dive into the excitement and beauty of the underwater world with this program of academic and pool training. This SCUBA class is prerequisite for an open water certification. Classes are taught by PADI certified Dive instructors. Please call Micks Scuba for registration information. 1-800-285-dive. Scuba classes are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the following dates:

LIFEGUARD TRAINING

A cognitive and psychomotor overview of the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies in confined, and non-surf open, water environments. Includes certification training in CPR and First Aid. Minimum age of 15 years. Textbooks are mandatory to participate in class.  Minimum of 6 participants to run the class.

LIFEGUARD TRAINING INSTRUCTOR

Theory and practicality on the prevention of, and the response to, aquatic emergencies as applicable to teaching American Red Cross Lifeguard Training. Current Lifeguard Training Certification required. Minimum age is 17 years old. See dates and times for Lifeguard Training

MARTIAL ARTS

TaeKwonDo, a form of martial arts and selfdefense is also recognized as an Olympic sport. The teaching method offered is “TaeKwonDo Chung Do Kwan,” one of the oldest and most recognized throughout the world.

Students are able to train and be promoted, receiving authentic certification white belt through Black Belt, with the opportunity to compete in tournaments.  The instruction is GREAT Fun and GREAT Exercise too!  You will increase your "inner confidence" as you learn how to defend yourself.

Instructor Dan Mankie and his Assistant.  Dan Mankie is Nationally and Internationally Certified 3rd Degree Black Belt and “Black Belt Hall of Fame” inductee.

CPR & FIRST AID

CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation:
Includes instruction, practice and certification in lifesaving interventions for respiratory and cardiac emergencies in infant’s, children, and adults. Skills include use of protective shields and multi-person CPR.  American Red Cross 2 year certification.

FIRST AID
This certification provides people with the knowledge and skills necessary in an emergency situation, to help keep someone alive, to reduce pain, and to minimize the consequences of injury until professional medical help arrives. The class fee includes textbook and first aid kit. Participants must be currently certified in CPR.
